Investing Insights: "Two-Factor Authentication"
Q2 2024 Newsletter
As of June 22, 2024, SPI's Investor Portal requires Two-Factor Authentication for added account security. If you haven't enabled it yet, you'll be prompted to do so the next time you log in.
What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-Factor Authentication is a security system that requires two separate forms of identification to log in to an account:- Your account password
- A code sent to your chosen device (your mobile phone or authenticator app)
This added layer of security protects the data stored in your SPI Investor Portal even if your password is compromised.
Follow the steps outlined in 'Two-Factor Authentication Instructions' to enable it for your SPI Investor Portal account.
Instruction Summary: Enabling Two-Factor Authentication
- Choose your device to receive your authentication code (e.g., via text, Microsoft Authenticator, or Google Authenticator).
- Follow the steps on this page to register your device.
- Log into the SPI Investor Portal using Two-Factor Authentication.
Once set up, each time you log in on a new device, browser, or IP address, you'll be prompted to provide the authentication code sent to your registered device to verify your login.
NOTE: You can select "Remember me for 60 days" to avoid having to re-verify your login for the next 60 days as long as you use the same device, browser, and IP address combination.
